Another banking Trojan targets South Korea

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web is warning users about a new Trojan that has Android handheld owners in South Korea under attack. This malicious program entered the Dr.Web virus database as Android.BankBot.35.origin. With a wide array of features that enable it to fake online banking applications, send and block short messages on command, steal confidential information, and download additional modules to enhance its payload, this malware poses a severe threat.

Doctor Web virus activity review: Macs and Linux under attack again

Doctor Web recovers files compromised by Trojan.Encoder.398

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has managed to create a routine for decrypting files affected by the encryption ransomware Trojan.Encoder.398. Thanks to technology yielded by an R&D project, data encrypted by one of this dangerous Trojan's modifications can now be fully recovered with a 90% probability of success. To date, Doctor Web is the only company that can decrypt files of this kind.
