Malicious proxy servers for social networkers

Reports have been received from users regarding a suspicious web-site designed for users of Russian socila networking web-sites who access these sites from their office machines.

Administrators of corporate networks often disable access to such sites, so the malicious site offers users free proxy-servers – web-sites with different addresses that can provide them access to the Blocked resources.

When users access sites over such a proxy-server, all their traffic directed through the server becomes accessible to criminals. Even though users do get access to the social networking web-sites, criminals can retreive their logins, passwords and other personal information.

Some of such proxy-servers are detected as fraudulent by Mozilla Firefox.

Doctor Web doesn’t recommend users to resort to such proxy-servers which may result in identity theft.
