Anti-rootkit module updated in numerous Dr.Web products
September 14, 2018
Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API version 11.5.5.201809130 in Dr.Web Security Space 11.5, Dr.Web Anti-virus 11.5, Dr.Web 11.5 for Windows Servers, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 11.0, Dr.Web 11.5 for Microsoft Exchange Server, and Dr.Web 11.5 for IBM Lotus Domino, as well as API version 11.1.22.201809130 for Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 10.0 and 10.1, and Dr.Web AV-Desk 10.0 and 10.1. The update delivers a feature upgrade.
Specifically, it enhances certificate verification routines. This makes Dr.Web less dependent on timely updates of the Windows root certificate list—a recent certificate-updating issue on Microsoft's end prevented digital signatures from being validated properly. The issue has now been resolved. Detection routines powered by machine learning have also been enhanced to address a possible increase in the number of false positives.
The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
