New banking Trojan, attack on defense enterprises, and other virus events of April 2015

Doctor Web presents its April 2015 virus activity review. Cybercriminals continue to spread malicious programs targeting users of Microsoft Windows, Linux, and Android OSes; numerous botnets also remain operable.

At the beginning of April, a mass mailing containing a dangerous Trojan and targeting work and personal email addresses of Russian defense enterprises employees was detected. Also in April, Doctor Web security researches completed their examination of a multicomponent banking Trojan, which poses a threat to customers of more than eighty credit organizations worldwide. A new malware targeting Linux OS was detected as well as numerous Trojans designed to compromise Google Android platform.
