An increase in malicious activity, the spread of adware trojans and other events of August 2022
September 15, 2022
Doctor Web presents its August virus activity review. According to the statistics we collected, an increase was observed in the overall number of threats detected compared to July. With that, adware trojans were highly active once again. In email traffic, malicious scripts, trojan downloaders and phishing webpages were most often detected.
The number of user requests to decrypt files affected by encoders slightly decreased compared to July. At the same time, Internet fraudsters continued to lure users to fake sites. As for Android device users, various adware trojans were again the threats they most often encountered.
Read more on these and other events in our August virus review.
