Adware trojans spreading and other events in Doctor Web’s August 2022 mobile malware activity review

Doctor Web is pleased to present its August 2022 mobile malware activity review. According to detection statistics collected by Dr.Web anti-virus products for Android, the activity of malicious and unwanted software designed to display ads increased compared to July. At the same time, the activity of Android.Spy.4498, a trojan that steals information from other apps’ notifications, continued to decrease. While it is still the most widespread Android threat found on user devices, its share of all malware detections registered has now shrunk to just one-third.
