The spread of malware in email traffic and other events of May 2022

Doctor Web is pleased to present its May 2022 virus activity review. According to statistics, the overall number of detected threats remained at April levels. Adware and unwanted programs still occupied the top spot for detected threats. With that, in email traffic, the malware distributed most frequently included trojans, stealers, exploits and malicious scripts. User requests to decrypt files affected by encoders slightly decreased, compared to April. The spread of sites distributing adware and malware masquerading as installers of popular software remained an ongoing trend. Read more about these and other events in our May virus review.
