Doctor Web presents its February 2022 mobile malware activity review. According to the statistics collected by Dr.Web for Android anti-virus products, the Android.Spy.4498 trojan’s activity has almost doubled compared to the previous month. Designed to steal information from notifications from other applications, this malware currently remains the most widespread Android threat. At that, adware trojans are also among the threats users often encounter.
At the same time, threat actors continue distributing various malicious apps through Google Play. For example, our specialists discovered yet another fake apps from the Android.FakeApp family used in fraudulent schemes.
