March 15, 2022
Doctor Web presents its January 2022 mobile malware activity review. According to the statistics collected by Dr.Web for Android anti-virus products, the Android.Spy.4498 spying trojan became widespread last month. This malware hijacks information from other apps’ notifications. It represented almost a quarter of all threats detected on Android devices. Various adware trojans also remained active. At the same time, we’ve seen a decrease in the number of attacks from malware that downloads other software and runs arbitrary code. During the month, our malware analysts discovered many new malicious apps on Google Play. Fraudulent apps, trojans that subscribe users to paid mobile services, and other threats were among them. Read more about these and other events in our review.
