May 13, 2021
Doctor Web presents its April 2021 virus activity review. The total number of unique detected threats decreased compared to March. According to statistics, adware and unwanted programs continue to be popular threats. Malicious software and scripts that use vulnerabilities in legitimate programs such as Microsoft Office were most often distributed in mail traffic. Besides that, cybercriminals distributed packed modifications of trojans written in VB.NET. The number of user requests to decrypt files affected by encoders also increased. Read more about these and other events in our April review.
