An increase in malware activity and other events of March 2021

Doctor Web presents its March 2021 overview of malware activity. The total number of detected threats increased compared to February. With that, the number of unique malware signatures registered during the month also increased. According to statistics, adware remained among the most common threats. Malicious scripts, phishing webpages, and various modifications of packed malware written in VB.NET dominated email traffic. User requests to decrypt files affected by encoders increased by almost 10%. Read more about these and other events in our March review.
