- Instead of reconfiguring the installation from scratch, you can copy the vars-user.yml and vars-default.yml files from the previous distribution to the new one. Then update the parameters in vars-default.yml, as the Linux VM images have been updated.
Recommended settings:
- Perform a complete VirtualBox reinstallation and recreate all virtual machines from scratch. vxcube_force_clean_vms: false
- Reclone Windows virtual machines. hyperbox_hbsetup: false
- Recreate Android virtual machines. dimas_vms_setup: false
- Reclone Linux virtual machines. linuxbox_vms_setup: true
With these settings, redeployment of all virtual machines is not required. Only the Linux virtual machines will be updated, which significantly reduces the overall update time.
