More component upgrades in Dr.Web 12.0 for Windows, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and 13.0, and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0’s subscription-based Dr.Web Anti-virus software

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the Dr.Web Updater (12.0.52.05230) module and the Dr.Web Control Service (12.12.2.05130) as well as the Lua-script for main, av-service, amsi-plugin, shell-ext (12.10.20.05230), and Lua-script for dwprot (12.10.16.04190) configuration scripts in Dr.Web Security Space 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0 for Windows Servers, and Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and 13.0, and also in Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0’s subscription-based Dr.Web Anti-virus software. Furthermore, the configuration script Lua-script for es-components (12.10.20.06290) has been updated in Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and 13.0 and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0’s subscription-based Dr.Web Anti-virus software, while Lua-script for drwbase (12.10.20.05230) has been made current in all the products listed except Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0. The update deliver feature upgrades and resolves existing software issues.

Changes made to Dr.Web Updater:

  • Minor tweaks have been introduced.

Changes made to Dr.Web Control Service:

  • The wsc-service module for integrating with Windows Security Center is listed among the installed Dr.Web components in the About menu section;
  • Now information about detected threats is also written into the Windows Event Log;
  • An issue affecting exception handling has been resolved;
  • The applications' security and performance have been improved.

Changes made to Lua-script for main, av-service, amsi-plugin, shell-ext:

  • Adjustments have been made to routines relying on DLL files;
  • The script now checks the OS version before drwnapinfo.dll gets registered in the system;
  • Adjustments have also been made to factor in the relevant Preventive Protection settings;
  • Protection again AMSI bypass methods has been implemented.

Changes made to Lua-script for dwprot:

  • Protection against AMSI bypass methods has been implemented.

Changes made to Lua-script for es-components:

  • The script now checks the OS version before drwnapinfo.dll gets registered in the system;

Changes made to Lua-script for drwbase:

  • If the drwbase databases have been corrupted and the application informs the user that their current license has not been validated, now updating the application will restore the drwbase.db file and the license.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
