Updates made to Dr.Web for Android 9.02.4 and Dr.Web for Android Light 9.00.4

May 13, 2015

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web for Android and Dr.Web for Android Light to versions 9.02.4 and 9.00.4, respectively. The update resolves previously identified problems.

In particular it eliminates a defect that occurred if users tried to access the application via the notification bar icon or the application manager (this issue affected some Android devices). Also resolved was an issue causing Dr.Web to terminate abnormally during scanning.

Several changes delivered with the update apply only to Dr.Web for Android. Fixes have been introduced so that Dr.Web Cloud Checker now works correctly with the latest versions of Yandex.Browser. Also corrected were errors in the operation of the Anti-theft and the Firewall. Security Auditor defects that could cause the anti-virus to terminate abnormally when the vulnerabilities list was being viewed have been corrected.

The updated anti-viruses are available on Google Play (Dr.Web for Android. Comprehensive protection, Dr.Web for Android. Life License, Dr.Web Anti-virus Light) and on Doctor Web's site.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically. If automatic updates are disabled on your device, go to Google Play, choose Dr.Web Anti-virus, Dr.Web Anti-Virus Life license, or Dr.Web Anti-virus Light on the application list, and click "Update”.

To perform an update via Doctor Web's site, download the updated distribution. If the option “New application version” is enabled, a new version notification will be displayed whenever the virus databases have been updated. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
