Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has released the ninth version of its utility Dr.Web CureIt!, a product designed to scan and cure computers of viruses even if a different manufacturer’s anti-virus is already present in the system. The new version boasts increased scanning speed and effectiveness. Dr.Web CureIt! 9.0 incorporates state-of-the art technologies and innovations that are already available in Dr.Web anti-viruses for Windows. These improve the product’s response against the latest threats.
In particular, the ninth version features an upgraded anti-virus engine. Yet, Dr.Web CureIt! no longer supports Windows 2000 and 2000 Server. In addition, the enhanced protection mode has been discarded because as of now this feature is unnecessary.
Also, the paid version of the utility can now be run under a limited privilege account as well as under an administrator account.
