Dr.Web for Android updated to version 8.0.4

July 26, 2013

Doctor Web has updated its Dr.Web 7.0 for Android to version 8.0.4. Product features for detecting malicious programs have been expanded.

Now Dr.Web for Android detects applications that exploit the recently discovered Android vulnerability 9695860 (extra field).

In addition, an issue involving abnormal termination during automatic updating has been eliminated.

The updated version of Dr.Web for Android is available on Google Play (Dr.Web Anti-virus, Dr.Web Anti-Virus Life license) and on Doctor Web's site (Dr.Web for Android).

Dr.Web for Android will be updated automatically. If automatic updates are disabled on the device, go to Google Play, choose Dr.Web Anti-virus or Dr.Web Anti-Virus Life license on the application list, and click "Update”.

o update via the Doctor Web site, you need to download a new distribution file. If the option “New application version” is enabled, a new version notification will be displayed when updating the virus databases. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
