Doctor Web and QWERTY join their IT security efforts

May 27, 2009

The Russian anti-virus vendor Doctor Web and one of the largest ISPS in Moscow QWERTY launch cooperation in enhancing anti-virus security for subscribers of the access provider by means of the Dr.Web anti-virus service. A two month trial enables customers to evaluate the anti-virus and anti-spam software free of charge.

Developed since 1992, Dr.Web software has proven its reliability and efficiency in Russia and other countries. In 2007 Doctor Web offered service providers its innovative Internet service Dr.Web AV-Desk that helped protect computers of subscribers from viruses and lower security risks in the Internet. Along with the anti-virus users also get anti-spam and parental control that allows blocking web-resources with objectionable content.

Customers can subscribe for the Dr.Web anti-virus service using the subscription module. The subscription procedure is simple and takes little time. When completed, a unique installer package is generated for the subscriber and his subscription period starts. The installer download link is sent to the customer immediately. While the subscription is active, the fee is automatically withdrawn from the user account.

“Anti-virus security of information of our customers is very important to us. Being a supplier of various top-quality telecom services we recommend only legal and reliable security software. With Doctor Web we not only give our subscribers such software but also make it very easy to access and use”, the general director of “Central Telegraph” the (QWERTY brand) Pavel Kuznetsov said.

“The current malware growth rate makes anti-virus protection of Internet users an urgent issue. We are glad that such a large access provider will be delivering the Dr.Web anti-virus service to its subscribers because Dr.Web AV-Desk is a new software delivery model that suits both service providers and their customers”.

About Dr.Web AV-Desk

Doctor Web offered an anti-virus as a service on the Russian market in 2007.

Deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk allows subscribers of a service provider to use Dr.Web anti-virus as a service: choose a desired subscription period, renew their subscription automatically and therefore plan how much they are going to spend on anti-virus security. Providing an anti-virus as a service ensures its instant delivery and easy management of a subscription for home and business users.

More than one hundred providers already deliver the Dr.Web anti-virus service in more than thirty regions of Russia and also in the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria and Estonia. Following results shown by the service in 2007 it was named the best product-service by PC Magazine Russia. In September 2008 Dr.Web AV-Desk was awarded the large golden medal of the Siberian Fair as an original technical and telecom solution
