Doctor Web — a Russian developer of IT-security software branded Dr.Web — releases the new version of its corporate anti-virus solution Dr.Web Enterprise Suite 5.0.

With Dr.Web Enteprise Suite 5.0 a system administrator can control anti-virus protection of workstations, mail and file servers and maintain comprehensive endpoint security in a corporate network.

Dr.Web Enterprise Suite 5.0 is the new version of the unique software product from Doctor Web that was first released in 2003 as an anti-virus solution for protection the SAS "Vybory" system. The Dr.Web AV-Desk Internet service allowing providers to supply the Dr.Web anti-virus service to their subscribers is based on Dr.Web Enterprise Suite.

World-known enterprises, Russian and International banks, governmental organizations with dozens of thousands of workstations in their networks have chosen Dr.Web Enterprise Suite. Highest public authorities of Russia — Russian Presidential Administration, Ministry of Defence, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, FSB, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education and Science entrust their security to Dr.Web Enterprise Suite. The new version of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite is the only corporate anti-virus solution that allows to centrally manage a security system of any scale. The updated anti-virus engine combines a lower use of CPU with outstanding capabilities to detect and neutralize any virus or other malicious object trying to get into a local network or to a computer in HTTP traffic, from a removable drive or with an e-mail message. The updated engine also features new anti-rootkit technologies and recognizes a larger number of archivers and packers that are often used to disguise malicious code.

Additional modules provide several levels of defence in the security system of your company. The SpIDer Gate HTTP monitor scans all loaded web-pages real time and blocks access to phishing and other fraudulent web-sites. Dr.Web office control enables an administrator to restrict access to files and folders to prevent their occasional deletion or modification by viruses and restrict access to unwanted web-sites using lists where such sites are grouped by subject. At the same time Dr.Web SelfPROtect will make sure that malware won’t disrupt operation of Dr.Web Enterprise Suite. Other improvements include a new report system allowing to collect information about workstations with a press of one key and wide opportunities for configuration and display of status of the server and workstations using their names, ID or IP addresses.

The load distribution system has been revised and now allows distributing input/output tasks between several CPU cores, optimizing requests sent to the database and changing the length of the agent authorization queue.
