Single user Dr.Web 6.0 and 7.0 products for Windows updated

August 27, 2012

Doctor Web has released an update for its single-user products Dr.Web for Windows, Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web for Windows file servers, versions 6.0 and 7.0, which improves operation of the Dr.Web SelfPROtect module.

The update enhances Dr.Web against rootkits capable of intercepting routines that control operation of programs and thus ending the anti-virus process. It also resolves the issue when the module wouldn't allow the CHKDSK utility to perform a scheduled scan if blocking low-level data writing for hard drives were enabled in Dr.Web settings.

The update will be automatically downloaded by the anti-viruses but applying the update will require a system reboot.
