Dr.Web for Unix updated

April 12, 2012

Doctor Web has updated its products for Unix-like systems including Dr.Web for Linux, Dr.Web for Internet Gateways UNIX, Dr.Web for UNIX Servers, Dr.Web for Novell Storage Services and Dr.Web for UNIX Mail Servers to version 6.0.2.2. The updated product distributions come with the latest 7.0.1 engine and corrected errors that improve their stability considerably.

The issue involving the anti-virus’s inability to retrieve updates via a proxy server has been resolved. The updated products for e-mail protection allow users to define a local or remote daemon scanning mode in the configuration file.

Also resolved were the following issues related to products for mail servers:

  • The cause of mail header parsing errors;
  • Issues related to mail suite daemons' abnormal termination;
  • Sender module mail processing errors;
  • Minor issues that might undermine the mail system’s stability.

To update products installed via a repository, use a corresponding repository routine. Those who have installed Dr.Web using a generic package will need to download the corresponding updated distribution and re-install the application.
