More improvements in Dr.Web 12.0 for Windows, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0, and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web continues to improve its anti-virus software and reports that a number of software components have been updated in Dr.Web Security Space 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0 for Windows Servers, Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 12.0 and Dr.Web AV-Desk 13.0.The changes introduced improve the reliability of the applications, deliver feature upgrades and resolve known software issues.

Specifically, improvements have been made to the Dr.Web Updater module (12.0.34.08300) to improve application security.

Furthermore, the module has had the following software issues resolved:

  • A defect preventing Dr.Web AV-Desk Agent 10.1 from upgrading to version 13 on PCs whose operating systems do not support SHA-256;
  • An issue disrupting Dr.Web Control Service’s operation during system shutdowns while the updating module was still running;
  • An issue preventing Dr.Web from receiving updates over the anti-virus network if a computer’s name contained ideograms;

Adjustments have also been made to logging routines for the configuration script Lua-script for spider-agent (12.10.0.07300).

The update delivers minor tweaks and upgrades and will be downloaded and installed automatically.
