Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Scanning Engine (11.5.10.202101200), Lua-script for antispam (12.5.6.04290), the Dr.Web Updater module (11.5.22.04060), SpIDer Agent for Windows (11.5.10.03221), Lua-script for updater (11.5.4.03090) and Lua-script for updater (11.6.0.03100), as well as the components Dr.Web Security Space, Anti-virus for Windows setup (11.6.0.03110) and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows servers setup (11.6.0.03110), in Dr.Web Security Space 11.5, Dr.Web Anti-virus 11.5 and Dr.Web Anti-virus 11.5 for Windows Servers. The update delivers fixes for identified issues and ensures that the Dr.Web software modules cannot be updated on Windows machines that do not support SHA-256 (the virus databases will be updated as scheduled despite these limitations).

Changes made to Dr.Web Updater:

• A pop-up message is now displayed if Windows updates need to be installed;
• Issues preventing information about the system OS (Windows 10 Pro and Windows 10 Home) from being added to the log file have been resolved;
• Adjustments have been made to ensure that the anti-spam module works properly;
• The stability of the applications has been improved.

Changes made to Dr.Web SpIDer Agent for Windows:

• A different icon is now used in the message prompting users to install updates for their version of Windows.

Changes made to Lua-script for updater (11.5.4.03090):

• A notification text informing users that the Dr.Web modules cannot be updated if SHA-256 is not supported in the protected system has been added;
• Module updating is now blocked under operating systems that do not support SHA-256.

Changes made to Lua-script for updater (11.6.0.03100):

• The Dr.Web software can no longer be updated from new update sources by using an updating mirror under older Windows versions.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.

Important: to ensure that the Dr.Web software operates correctly under Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2, Microsoft security updates providing SHA-256 support must be installed in these systems. For additional information, please refer to this guide.
