Components updated in Dr.Web 12.0 products for Windows

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated SpIDer Agent for Windows (12.10.0.06140), Dr.Web Scanner SE (12.10.0.06260), Dr.Web Control Service (12.10.0.05221), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (12.5.4.202006100) as well as Dr.Web Shell Extension (12.10.0.06040), Dr.Web Security Space setup (12.10.0.05060), Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows setup (12.10.0.05060) and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows servers setup (12.10.0.05060) modules in Dr.Web Security Space 12.0, Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0 and Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0 for Windows Servers. Furthermore, Dr.Web Firewall for Windows (12.05.02.04160) and the Lua-script for traffic-hook (12.5.6.04160) component have been updated in Dr.Web Security Space and in Dr.Web Anti-virus 12.0. The update resolves known issues and delivers minor upgrades.

Changes made to SpIDer Agent for Windows:

  • An issue causing the agent process to terminate abnormally during interaction with the search box in the firewall application rule window;
  • An issue that might cause the agent to terminate abnormally while the application's components were being updated has been resolved;
  • Also eliminated was an application rule deletion problem that occurred if rule search was used in firewall settings;
  • UI layout issues involving Windows high-contrast themes and high-resolution displays have been addressed;
  • An issue involving documentation being displayed in a different language rather than in the current application language has been resolved;
  • The option to allow third-party screen reader applications to narrate Dr.Web UI texts is now available.
  • Furthermore, UI tweaks have been introduced to resolve multiple issues involving screen readers;
  • Also addressed were UI layout, displaying and behaviour issues.

Changes made to Dr.Web Scanner SE:

  • In the Detected threats window, users can now copy threat information, export it to a csv-file and use the context menu to navigate to threat locations.
  • The update also addresses an issue preventing a system from powering off upon completion of a scan (when the respective option is enabled) if the computer was locked after a shutdown warning had been displayed;
  • Minor UI tweaks have been introduced.

Dr.Web Control Service:

  • An issue preventing devices from being added to the allowed list with a regular expression has been resolved.
  • If application settings are reset to default, ICMPv6 allow rules are enabled in the firewall packet filtering settings.

Changes made to Dr.Web Shell Extension:

  • A defect preventing scans from being started via the drop-down menu in systems with CPUs without support for SSE2 has been corrected.

Changes made to Dr.Web Security Space setup, Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows setup and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows servers setup:

  • The option to allow third-party screen reader applications to narrate Dr.Web UI texts can now be toggled on in the Installation Wizard..
  • The update also resolves minor UI issues and defects involving third-party screen reader applications.

Changes made to Dr.Web Firewall for Windows and Lua-script for traffic-hook:

  • The ICMPv6 allow rules are enabled by default in firewall packet filtering settings.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
