Dr.Web 6 for Mac OS X supports x64

September 28, 2010

Doctor Web released the sixth version of Dr.Web for Mac OS X. The product supports the 64-bt version of Mac OS X which allows using the anti-virus on servers running Mac OS X Server 10.4 and later.

In the new version the SpIDer Guard file monitor can operate under 64-bit versions of Mac OS X. Consequently, Mac OS X Server 10.4 (Tiger Server), 10.5 (Leopard Server) and 10.6 (Snow Leopard Server) have been added to the list of supported systems while prospective customers now include companies preferring Mac to PC.

The new version of Dr.Web for Mac OS X also incorporates other changes. Now the file monitor is launched automatically as soon as a key file is obtained, yet operation of the monitor, scanner and updating module is blocked if the key is not available.

The new version comes with fixes of several known errors and improved UI. The program’s help is now available in French.
