An Android Trojan on Google Play, malware discovered in Android mobile device firmware, and other November 2016 mobile security events

Doctor Web presents its November 2016 overview of malware for mobile devices. November began with the discovery of the Trojan Android.MulDrop.924 on Google Play. It was designed to download software programs and then prompt users to install them. It could also display annoying advertisements. In addition, Doctor Web’s security researchers detected the Trojan Android.Spy.332.origin which covertly downloaded, installed, and removed applications, and sent user personal information to the command and control server.
