Components updated in Dr.Web 11.0

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the following components in Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web Anti-virus 11.0, Dr.Web 11.0 for MS Exchange and Dr.Web 11.0 for IBM Lotus Domino: Dr.Web Updater (11.0.2.04110), Dr.Web Control Service (11.0.6.05181), SpIDer Agent for Windows (11.0.5.201605190), Dr.Web Scanner SE (11.0.3.201604280), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (11.1.0.201605130), the module Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API (11.1.1.201604260), Dr.Web File System Monitor (11.01.00.05040), the firewall (11.1.0.04261), the module Dr.Web SelfPROtect (11.01.00.04260), the component Dr.Web SysInfo (11.1.0.201604130), Dr.Web Net filtering Service (11.1.0.04290), Dr.Web Net Filter for Windows driver (11.0.1.04255), the component Dr.Web device Guard for Windows (11.01.00.04270), Dr.Web Thunderstorm Cloud Client SDK (11.0.0.201604290), configuration scripts, and Help materials. (The updating module, scanning service and anti-rootkit API were not updated for the anti-viruses for MS Exchange and IBM Lotus Domino). In Dr.Web 11.0 for Windows Servers, the following components were also updated: Dr.Web Updater, Dr.Web Control Service, Dr.Web Scanning Engine, Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API, Dr.Web File System Monitor, Firewall, Dr.Web SelfPROtect, Dr.Web SysInfo, and Dr.Web Thunderstorm Cloud Client SDK. The update delivers new features and resolves known issues.

Dr.Web Updater:

  • A problem involving integrity verification progress being displayed during updating has been resolved.

Dr.Web Control Service:

  • A new option has been added to protect against BadUSB.
  • The routine for interacting with Windows Action Center (Windows Security Center) has been revamped.
  • License expiry notifications under Windows 10 are now sent via the Windows Action Center.
  • A delayed start has been implemented for background scanning, updating, and back-up tasks once the system resumes from hybrid sleep.
  • Another addition made: If the self-protection module has been disabled, it will now be enabled automatically when the system resumes from the hybrid sleep.
  • A problem involving data loss prevention backups containing zero length files has been resolved.
  • Stability and performance improvements have been made.
  • Preventive Protection routines have been revamped.

SpIDer Agent for Windows:

  • A new option has been added to protect against BadUSB (for devices that emulate keyboards).
  • A problem that prevented the application from indicating in the menu that the virus databases are out of date has been fixed.
  • An issue involving license and trial period expiry notifications has been resolved.

Dr.Web Scanner SE:

  • Problems that involved managing UI window elements with a keyboard have been eliminated.
  • A problem that prevented the threat list from being displayed properly in a maximised window has been resolved.
  • Also fixed was a problem that caused an increase in memory usage while a file containing scanning paths was being parsed.

Dr.Web Scanning Engine:

  • A product registration routine in the Windows Action Center (Windows Security Center) has been revamped.
  • A problem that caused freezing while infected content was being disarmed has been eliminated.
  • An issue that caused the console scanner to terminate abnormally when Ctrl+C was pressed has been eliminated.
  • Also eliminated was an issue involving network paths for exceptions.

Dr.Web File System Monitor:

  • Performance improvements.

The Firewall:

  • A problem involving a new rule dialogue being displayed while a game was running in full screen mode under Windows 10 has been resolved.
  • Also resolved was an issue involving digital signatures for Windows Store Apps not being displayed.

Dr.Web SelfPROtect:

  • Routines for protecting against exploits have been enhanced and now boast improved performance.

Dr.Web Net filtering Service:

  • The Parental Control's black and white lists and the SpIDer Gate exceptions list now support regular expressions.
  • A problem that prevented guest sessions from being blocked has been resolved.
  • A problem has been fixed that prevented the process exceptions list from being parsed correctly if SpIDer Gate wasn't installed.
  • Also fixed was a problem that resulted in the absence of the prefix [SPAM] for received spam messages in the Windows 10 mail client.
  • A problem that prevented infected messages from being removed from the server if a corresponding option was enabled and the protocol POP3 was being used has been resolved.
  • A problem that caused an increase in CPU load if SSL traffic scanning was enabled and the anonymox.net plugin for Mozilla Firefox was being used has been resolved.
  • Also resolved was a problem that prevented Metro applications from Windows Store from updating if SLL traffic scanning was enabled.

Dr.Web device Guard for Windows:

  • A new option has been added to protect against BadUSB.

Configuration scripts:

  • Now the application supports a migration utility for Windows upgrades (this utility has been incorporated into Dr.Web Upgrade Tool).

Some improvements have also been introduced into the UI language modules.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
