Trojan incorporated into Google Play games, malicious program detected on firmware, and other mobile security events of January 2016

Doctor Web presents its January 2016 overview of malware for mobile devices. In the past month, Doctor Web security researchers found more than 60 games on Google Play being infected by a Trojan designed to install and launch various software and display annoying advertisements. Moreover, they detected a Trojan pre-installed on the firmware of Philips s307. The malicious program was designed to silently install applications on the infected device. January was also marked by emergence of a large number of Trojans for Android.
