Doctor Web presents its mobile malware review for 2015. In the past year, Android devices suffered numerous attacks from various malicious programs, such as SMS, banking, and ransomware Trojans. Moreover, a big number of new aggressive advertising modules appeared. New cases of Android firmware being infected with malicious applications were also registered. One of the main trend of 2015 is a spread of Trojans that try to get root privileges by infecting the Android system directory with different rootkits. At the same time, security researchers detected new malware programs for iOS-based devices.
