Trojan for routers, dangerous miner, and other virus events of August 2015

Doctor Web presents its August 2015 virus activity review. The last summer month proved to be quite eventful in terms of information security—thus, Dr.Web virus databases were updated with new entries for malware targeting Windows, Linux, and Android.

At the beginning of the month, Doctor Web analysts detected a large number of dangerous applications that targeted routers running Linux. Moreover, some time later, other malicious programs, including a miner Trojan that could spread by itself, fell under the scrutiny of security researches.
