Virus-Finding Engine updated in Dr.Web software

August 13, 2015

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Virus-Finding Engine (7.0.14.08060) in Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web anti-virus 6-10, Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite, Dr.Web Server Security Suite, Dr.Web Mail Security Suite, Dr.Web Gateway Security Suite, in the Internet-service Dr.Web AV-Desk, curing utilities Dr.Web CureIt! and Dr.Web CureNet! as well as in the system recovery tool Dr.Web LiveDisk. The update delivers new features and addresses identified issues.

Issues involving routines for extracting and parsing .NET, and ZIP files have been resolved. The defect causing false positives during heuristic analysis of PE and MS Office files has been corrected.

The structural entropy scan is now available for PE-files under 64-bit versions of Windows and the heuristic routines for analysing RTF files have been upgraded.

Furthermore, Dr.Web Virus-Finding Engine routines processing ELF- and Mach-O files now support UPX.

In addition, the engine's detection capabilities have been enhanced.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically.
