Two more providers in AV-Desk web

February 24, 2010

In February two more Russian ISPs deployed Dr.Web AV-Desk. SiAl is the sixteenth ISP in St. Petersburg to offer the Dr.Web anti-virus service to subscribers. And Volga-Online is the fifth company to deploy Dr.Web AV-Desk in the Samara region.

The web encompassing Russian ISPs that use AV-Desk has expanded with two new joiners. Volga-Online, operating in the Samara region since 2003, traditionally offers to its customers a high-speed Internet service and SiAl, the company located St. Petersburg, mainly targets residents of student quarters area where over 7 thousand youths attending different universities and institutes of the city live.

Today none of these companies can boast a large client base. However, a wide range of highly demanded services offered by the providers ensures a steady inflow of new customers. The Dr.Web anti-virus service has been added on their lists recently.

Four subscription packages allow customers to choose a desired level of security. A user also can suspend his subscription if he is away.

“SiAl gladly joins ranks of providers offering the Dr.Web anti-virus service to their customers. We are ready to offer our customers broadband and virus-free Internet”, Ulyana Potapova, the general manager of SiAl said.

The general director of Volga-Online Alexei Sazonov believes that deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk in the company’s network brings up security of subscribers’ computers to an entirely new level. “With the flexible subscription policy and integration of the anti-virus server with our billing system users receive anti-virus protection on the best terms ever”, he added.

About Dr.Web AV-Desk

Doctor Web was the first anti-virus vendor that offered an anti-virus as a service on the Russian market.

Deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk allows subscribers of a service provider to use Dr.Web anti-virus as a service: choose a desired subscription period, renew their subscription automatically and therefore plan how much they are going to spend on anti-virus security. Providing an anti-virus as a service ensures its instant delivery and easy management of a subscription for home users and business customers. Dr.Web AV-Desk was released by Doctor Web in 2007. The number of service providers that deliver the Dr.Web anti-virus service in different regions of Russia and also in the Ukraine, France, Spain, Netherlands, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria and Estonia is reaching 200. Following results shown by the service in 2007 it was named the best product-service by PC Magazine Russia. In September 2008 Dr.Web AV-Desk was awarded the large golden medal of the Siberian Fair as an original technical and telecom solution.
