The new Trojan for Mac OS X, named Mac.BackDoor.OpinionSpy.3, has a wide range of features and is primarily intended for spying on users. The emergence of Linux.BackDoor.Xnote.1 became another noteworthy event in February. Cybercriminals also endowed this malicious program with an impressive range of features.
As before, Windows users are threatened by encryption ransomware that demands a ransom for decryption of compromised files. Many malicious and advertising applications for Android have also been discovered.
