A new version of Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino released

September 11, 2008

Doctor Web releases an updated product for protection of corporate e-mail traffic of IBM Lotus Domino. The version 4.44.1 has several new features expanding functionality and improving user experience to the program.

Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino is a plugin for protection of corporate e-mail system based on IBM Lotus Domino. The product performs real-time and scheduled scan of e-mail messages and documents stored in the database of a server. It isolates infected and suspicious documents in the quarantine. Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino also uses unique anti-spam technologies that enable it to detect unsolicited mail regardless of a language used in a message.

The new version has some features added and some bugs fixed. Hanging of the server operating under a high load via NRPC protocol for a long period of time, scan of messages containing special symbols in the address field and incorrect creation of schedule documents for launching of the updater have been corrected. Reporting system has also been improved.

The following features have been implemented in Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino 4.44.1:

  • Black and white lists of e-mail addresses for Dr.Web anti-spam. The new version allows creating lists that define actions performed to messages from specified e-mail addresses.
  • NSF database filter for the monitor. This version supports creating of NSF database list that can be enabled/disabled for scan performed by the monitor real-time.
  • Manual launch/stop of the scanner. In the new version an administrator can also start/stop any job at any moment.
  • Check for other anti-viruses in a system. Now Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino checks if any other anti-virus for IBM Lotus Domino is present in the system before installation.
We’d like to remind you that Dr.Web for IBM Lotus Domino has already been validated by IBM and got the Ready for IBM Lotus software mark. The product was installed in the innovation centre of IBM and an online conference participated by both companies was held to present the product upon its release.
