Dr.Web anti-virus keeps web-money users safe

October 20, 2009

Popularity of Dr.Web AV-Desk has grown beyond the narrow market segment of access providers and borders of Russia. Yet Doctor Web announces deployment of the Internet-service by WebMoney. Now all users of the electronic payment system have access to the Dr.Web anti-virus service and can choose a desired level of protection.

WebMoney customers sign up for the service the same way as subscribers of access providers do. The only difference is that customers first get to the service description page and only after that log into their personal area. Provided that WebMoney has millions of customers worldwide, this deployment is a truly significant event both for users and for Doctor Web.

Obtaining anti-virus software to protect electronic money from theft and to secure a system from Interne-threats is no more difficult than purchasing a product online. Selection of subscription packages providing different levels of protection has special significance since customers buying goods and services online have already switched to the network life style and employ computers for a greater part of their daily work.

The anti-virus protection service has been introduced in WebMoney only recently but it already attracts customers. We do not simply offer users an anti-virus but we also offer a quick and simple way to get it. For example, the service provides customers with automatic renewal of their subscriptions. We are confident that our cooperation with Doctor Web will be long and productive", Artem Fomichev, the WebMoney Transfer marketing manager said.

WebMoney has become the second electronic payment system that deployed Dr.Web AV-Desk. In autumn 2008 it was adopted by Yandex.Money.

About Dr.Web AV-Desk

Doctor Web was the first anti-virus vendor that offered an anti-virus as a service on the Russian market.

Deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk allows subscribers of a service provider to use Dr.Web anti-virus as a service: choose a desired subscription period, renew their subscription automatically and therefore plan how much they are going to spend on anti-virus security. Providing an anti-virus as a service ensures its instant delivery and easy management of a subscription for home users and business customers. Dr.Web AV-Desk was released by Doctor Web in 2007. More than eighty providers already deliver the Dr.Web anti-virus service in more than thirty regions of Russia and also in the Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Bulgaria and Estonia. Following results shown by the service in 2007 it was named the best product-service by PC Magazine Russia. In September 2008 Dr.Web AV-Desk was awarded the large golden medal of the Siberian Fair as an original technical and telecom solution.
