Procedures for the interaction between the Dr.Web Net Filtering service and Dr.Web Control Service have been overhauled to avoid interference with OS performance and reduce the consumption of system resources when the service is being restarted. In addition, a memory leak issue that could arise when the component was operational for a long period of time has been fixed.
New rule notification windows have been completely redesigned for the firewall, and an NDIS driver memory leak issue that occurred when the firewall was running has been resolved.
The updated Dr.Web Scanning Engine boasts faster anti-rootkit scanning.
The 64-bit anti-rootkit module facilitates more efficient neutralisation of threats targeting 64-bit platforms. Dr.Web Shield has been refitted with the new API and fine-tuned to work with the new anti-rootkit architecture. Routines for searching and neutralising active threats have been redesigned too.
Dr.Web SelfPROtect now incorporates intelligent low-level disk protection which dramatically reduces the number of compatibility issues involving third-party software. The update also delivers enhanced routines for behaviour analysis employed against unknown Trojan.Encoder malware. Issues involving memory leaks connected with the operation of the self-protection driver and issues that could cause Dr.Web processes to terminate abnormally upon system startup have also been resolved.
A SpIDer Guard defect involving system crashes when file and process exceptions were being processed has been corrected.
The installer module now supports the Czech, Korean, Turkish, Portuguese and Lithuanian languages. The agent's list of supported languages has been expanded to include Czech, Korean, Turkish and Portuguese.
The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
