Dr.Web 9.0 for Android updated

May 26, 2014

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web reports that the Dr.Web for Android product available on its site, has been updated to version 9.01.2. The update delivers new features and resolves known issues.

Now Dr.Web supports Android 4.4 as well as the Google Chrome Beta and Yandex browsers.

The anti-virus’s ability to neutralise threats containing self-protection mechanisms has been enhanced. Virus database updating has also been optimised. In addition, the update helps reduce the number of anti-virus false positives.

Dr.Web 9.01.2 for Android can detect the Heartbleed vulnerability.

The menu item Help provides easy access to information about the product.

Now Dr.Web notifies the user whenever the firewall is turned off.

Known defects, including those that could cause the anti-virus to terminate abnormally, have been corrected.

To perform an update via Doctor Web's site, download the updated distribution. If the option “New application version” is enabled, a new version notification will be displayed when updating the virus databases. You can start the download directly from this dialogue box.
