November 6, 2013

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the Dr.Web Updater module (, Dr.Web Scanning Engine (, and Dr.Web Shell Extension ( in iversion 8.0 of its products Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows and Dr.Web for Windows Servers. The update delivers fixes of the following defects:

  • A Dr.Web Updater issue causing improper updating via the Anti-virus Network;
  • A Dr.Web Scanning Engine defect that showed itself when the anti-spam module was being updated—this fix is relevant for Dr.Web Security Space;
  • An issue related to the displaying of the Scan with Dr.Web item in the context menu in the Finnish, Uzbek and Belarusian languages.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
