Components in Dr.Web 9.0 products for Windows updated

October 14, 2013

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Agent (9.0.1.201310070), Dr.Web Control Service (9.0.2.10091) and Dr.Web Net Filtering Service (9.0.2.10042) in the products Dr. Web Security Space and Dr.Web Anti-virus for Windows, version 9.0.The update delivers improvements and fixes of known issues, which include the following:

An agent defect that made it impossible for the parental control to save the white list of removable media has been corrected. An issue was resolved concerning the option being given to scan encrypted traffic even if SpIDer Mail and SpIDer Gate were not installed. To avoid server errors when serial numbers are being submitted, characters in the registration form are now automatically changed to uppercase. The agent context menu has been redesigned to be consistent with the look and feel of the current visual theme under Windows Vista and later versions.

The update also corrects the Dr.Web Control Service defect when passwords to access protected settings were not deleted after product removal. In addition, changes have been made to improve the performance of the behaviour analyser Dr.Web Process Heuristic.

The issue concerning the traffic interception service’s abnormal termination when working with the IM-client QIP 2012 and the protocol Mail.ru has also been resolved.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
