Components in Dr.Web 9.0 products for Windows updated

October 8, 2013

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated Dr.Web Control Service (9.0.2.10030), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (9.0.2.201310031), Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API (9.0.2.201310030) and scanner (9.0.2.201310020) in its products Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web Anti-virus 9.0. The main changes are related to the optimisation of the behaviour analyser Dr.Web Process Heuristic. The update also corrects known component defects.

In addition to the improvements associated with Dr.Web Process Heuristic, which affected all the components, except the scanner, the following issues have been resolved.

A control service issue when background scanning for rootkits could be started even if the file monitor SpIDer Guard was uninstalled.

A scanner issue that might cause repeated scanning of Application Data folders.

The update will be performed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
