Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated its Dr.Web SelfPROtect module (8.1.0.01172), Dr.Web Net Filtering Service (6.0.14.06272), Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API (8.3.0.201306170), Dr.Web Scanning Engine (8.1.0.201306170), scanner (8.0.0.201301230) and SpIDer Guard file monitor (8.00.03.01110) in products incorporated into Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 6.0.4 and the Dr.Web AV-Desk 6.2 Internet service.

The update resolves a variety of issues, including the following:.

• The abnormal termination of the self-protection module if NVIDA ForceWare Network Access Manager was running; A defect that could cause the operating system to freeze or bring up the BSOD when eBoostr, the performance tweak utility, was running;
• A Dr.Web Net Filtering Service issue involving traffic of applications featuring Metro UI not being scanned. A compatibility issue between Dr.Web and the T-Mobile mail client; An error making authorisation impossible while the component was operational;
• Scanning service issues involving crashes and freezes while infected files were being cured; An error causing the component to stop working if an expired license key file was being used, and a file monitor exceptions list error;
• A scanner error that made it impossible to disable the option to scan containers if launched from the command line; An error that occurred when running a virus scan via the context menu.
• The updated Dr.Web SpIDer Guard can use some Dr.Web Anti-rootkit Service routines and, if necessary, utilize the service to neutralize threats. Errors found in operation of this component have been corrected.

In addition, the software is now compatible with StaffCop.

The update will be automatically downloaded by the Dr.Web Anti-virus service software and by Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite, but a system restart will be necessary to apply the update.
