Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 6.0.4 released

January 14, 2013

Doctor Web has released Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 6.0.4. The release delivers new features and fixes of known defects. The agent update is available for networks utilizing server software versions 6.0, 6.0.2 and 6.0.3, as well as those using server version 6.0.4.

The following fixes and upgrades have been incorporated into the server software. Once server 6.0.4 is installed, the latest agent network installer becomes available in the installer directory. Now computers running Microsoft Windows 8 and Microsoft Windows Server 2012 are identified correctly in the anti-virus network. Support for RADIUS protocol has been implemented. The server's performance during the period when a low-speed connection to the Global Updating System is being established has been optimized and become more stable. In addition, routines for interacting with the internal database have been upgraded for better performance and reliability under a heavy load.

Past occasional Dr.Web Net Filtering Service installation issues have been resolved for the agent software. Now Windows Defender is disabled when the agent is being installed. Also resolved were issues regarding compatibility with some Java applications.

The update also fixes a scanner error that resulted in exceptions specified as file names being scanned nonetheless. This was an issue that arose when processing an exceptions list downloaded from the server and when detected threat information was being transmitted to the server.

The updated version of the Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API library, used to neutralize sophisticated threats, provides optimized anti-rootkit search routines, which significantly accelerates a system scan. In addition, the update resolves an issue that prevented the anti-virus from ending infected processes.

The update also fixes an issue involving a critical system error that would occur in Windows 8 when trying to establish a network connection via PPPoE.

Agents will update automatically, but two reboots will be necessary.

Detailed information about the update and installation instructions can be found in the Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 6.0.4 Release Notes.

You can take advantage of the remote testing service Dr.Web LiveDemo to install and test Dr.Web Enterprise Security Suite 6.0.4.
