Doctor Web updates Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web anti-virus 5.0 for Windows

March 5, 2008

Doctor Web updates its single-user products — Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web anti-virus 5.0 for Windows. The update improves performance of the anti-virus applications and corrects errors of the SpIDer Mail monitor, Dr.Web SelfPROtect, SpIDer Gate, the console scanner and updating module.

The update also optimizes performance of the Dr.Web SelfPROtect and fixes a compatibility issue between the self-protection module and Zone Alarm. Besides, it corrects the error that didn’t allow using SpIDer Mail and the console scanner in Windows Vista if a demo key was used.

The update improves operation of the Dr.Web Updater including correct downloading of files if a connection with a server is interrupted and detection of updating servers specified in the hosts file.

The update also fixes a possible compatibility issue between a traffic scan module used by SpIDer Mail and SpIDer Gate modules and MS ISA Firewall Client and accelerates display of the Windows logon dialogue screen at start-up.

The update is available on all updating servers of Doctor Web and will be downloaded automatically to computers protected by Dr.Web Security Space and Dr.Web 5.0 for Windows.
