Doctor Web — the Russian anti-virus vendor — is expanding its presence in the north-western region of Russia. Murmanskye Multiservisnye Seti has deployed Dr.Web AV-Desk in Murmansk along with many other provider companies delivering the anti-virus service to subscribers in St. Petersburg and nearby cities and towns.
The company has become the first access provider that deployed the Internet service for users living in the Murmansk region of Russia. Dr.Web AV-Desk allows service providers to deliver a highly demanded anti-virus service powered by Dr.Web software.
Subscribers signing up for the service get a reliable anti-virus from the renowned vendor . A user can set a desired subscription period and suspend the subscription if he goes on a long business trip or stays away for a long time while on holiday. Now more than five thousand subscribers of the ISP in Murmansk can take advantage of the new anti-virus service.
“We liked Dr.Web AV-Desk because it made an anti-virus easily accessible to our customers. They no longer need to go to a store and search for a boxed product. Now one enters his personal area, sets a subscription period and signs up. As the result the subscriber receives anti-virus protection meeting highest requirements to anti-virus security”, Aleksei Koksharov, the administration manager of Murmanskye Multiservisnye Seti commented upon the launch of commercial operation of the service.
About Dr.Web AV-Desk
The internet service was developed by Doctor Web in 2007. It allows service providers to deliver the anti-virus protection service powered by Dr.Web for Windows to an unlimited number of subscribers. A service provider also receives a tool for centralized management of the delivery process. Deployment of Dr.Web AV-Desk gives subscribers an opportunity to use the anti-virus from Doctor Web as a service: select a desired subscription term (1-36 months) and plan their expenses on anti-virus protection. The innovative model that turns information security software into a service ensures instant delivery of an anti-virus making it extremely easy to renew for any user regardless of his geographical location.
More than fifty provider companies have already deployed Dr.Web AV-Desk in Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Estonia. Following results shown by the service in 2007 it was named the best product-service by PC Magazine Russia. In September 2008 Dr.Web AV-Desk was awarded the large golden medal of the Siberian Fair as an original technical and telecom solutions.
