Dr.Web 6.0 for Windows components updated

August 15, 2011

Doctor Web updated several software components included in Dr.Web single-user products from the series 6 for Windows. The update delivers fixes and improvements for the mail monitor SpIDer Mail, Scanning Engine and the quarantine manager.

It improves the mail monitor's performance and stability and provides fixes of known errors. The update is available for SpIDer Mail in Dr.Web anti-virus, Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite without the Control Center.

The Scanning Engine upgrades increase its scanning speed and simultaneously reduce its resource consumption. An issue related to interaction between the engine and the file monitor driver has been resolved and the error that caused incorrect Scanning Engine status to be displayed in the Windows 2000 service management panel has been fixed.

The quarantine manager's usability has been improved.

The Scanning Engine and quarantine manager updates are available for Dr.Web Anti-virus, Dr.Web Security Space, Dr.Web Desktop Security Suite and Dr.Web Server Security Suite without the Control Center.

The update will be automatically downloaded by the anti-viruses but applying the update will require a system reboot.
