Strasbourg becomes Dr.Web capital of Europe

May 11, 2011

Doctor Web—a Russian developer of IT security software—is pleased to announce the relocation of its headquarters in France and the expansion of its scope of activities. The new location in Strasbourg, located in France’s Alsace region, is tasked with promoting and selling Dr.Web software throughout Western Europe.

Doctor Web France opened its first office in Paris during the summer of 2008, and led by Pierre Curien, it has made impressive progress in promoting Dr.Web through an extensive distribution network.

Strasbourg has long been the unofficial capital of Europe, the center of its political life, and the city's economy is developing rapidly. Locating an office here is strategically important in that the company gains direct access to the European Information security market.

Doctor Web's office in Strasbourg has its own customer support service (including technical support) and a team of experienced sales specialists. This will strengthen the position of the Dr.Web brand in Europe.

As to why the location in Alsace was chosen, Doctor Web's General Director Boris Sharov commented: "In addition to its border location, which allows businesses to recruit telecommunications sector professionals speaking two or more languages, Alsace is inherently international, economically attractive, and accessible. This headquarters will assist is in determining the future development of the company in Europe—Benelux countries, Italy, Spain, and Eastern Europe”.
