Dr.Web for Android updated

April 7, 2011

Doctor Web released an upgrade for its Dr.Web for Android - free Dr.Web for Android Light and the commercial Dr.Web for Android Anti-virus&Anti-spam. The upgrade provides improvements both in functionality and interface.

Particularly, it makes operation of Dr.Web for Android Anti-virus&Anti-spam on various devices more stable. In addition, the application enjoys improved anti-spam routines and enables users to switch between several blacklist profiles. The anti-virus now also supports Japanese and Arabic languages.

Known issues have been resolved for Dr.Web for Android Light.

The application notification icon size was decreased in both versions of the program for better usability.

Dr.Web for Android Anti-virus&Anti-spam and Dr.Web for Android Light, downloaded from the Android Market, will be updated automatically. However, if automatic updating is disabled, go to the Android Market, select Dr.Web Anti-virus or Dr.Web Anti-virus Light from the list of applications and click on the Update button.

In order to update via Doctor Web’s site you need to remove your current version of the anti-virus and download a new distribution file.

Please, remember that Dr.Web for Android, along with Dr.Web for Windows Mobile and Symbian OS is included in the Dr.Web Mobile Security Suite available free of charge to all customers who purchase Dr.Web for personal computers. You can use Dr.Web for Android Light free of charge even if you don't use any other Dr.Web product.
