Doctor Web to participate in the second summit of the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum

July 17, 2023

Doctor Web, a leading Russian developer of anti-virus solutions, will take part in the IT cluster of the second Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which will take place in St. Petersburg at the ExpoForum Convention and Exhibition Centre on 27–28 July.

In the modern world, the digitalisation of the countries on the African continent is proceeding at a rapid pace, and, therefore, the number of cyber threats targeting developing computer systems, including state organisations and large enterprises, is also increasing. Cybercriminals actively use phishing to deceive users, steal personal data and money, and also distribute and implement malicious programs. This factor accompanying digitalisation harms individuals, companies and the public infrastructure and can also put the brakes on countries’ economic development and pose a threat to national security.

Russian company Doctor Web, known for its years-long research in the field of malware protection around the world, will share its experiences and talk about the most effective measures to protect against cyberattacks. At the Forum, Igor Zdobnov, the head of Doctor Web's virus laboratory, will discuss how to deal with the consequences of past incidents and what information security issues are most relevant.
