Quick access to permission settings and other upgrades in Dr.Web Security Space 12.8.4 for Android

December 7, 2022

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated its Dr.Web Security Space for Android to version 12.8.4. The latest version incorporates improvements for Android TV devices, smartphones and tablets.

Now, users are able to quickly access permission settings under Android and Android TV (version 11 and later releases) to grant Dr.Web access to all files after it’s been installed on a device.

Adjustments have also been made to custom scan routines for Android 13, which doesn’t allow third-party apps to access certain directories in the system memory.

The update also introduces minor tweaks and upgrades for Dr.Web’s firewall.

If you downloaded Dr.Web from Google Play, the app will be updated automatically. If automatic updates are disabled on your device, go to Google Play, select Dr.Web Security Space on the application list, and tap "Update."

You may also get the latest Dr.Web version by downloading the distribution file from Doctor Web’s site and running it on your device. If you’ve enabled the “New app version” option in the settings, a notification will be displayed whenever the virus databases are updated. You can start a Dr.Web update directly from this dialogue box.
