Convenient offline updating: Doctor Web presents new utility for creating local update mirrors for its anti-viruses for Unix-like systems

July 29, 2022

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has released a utility that allows virus and anti-spam database updates, as well as fresh information on non-recommended websites, to be downloaded into a local directory. These files may subsequently be used to update Dr.Web applications for Unix-like systems on computers lacking Internet connectivity.

The utility can also download up-to-date databases to a computer that does have access to the Internet but lacks the relevant Dr.Web anti-virus software.

Information about supported command-line switches, as well as instructions on how to run the utility and download update files, can be found in the documentation.

The new utility can be downloaded from Doctor Web's site.
