Improved security and other changes in Dr.Web KATANA 1.0

June 30, 2022

Russian anti-virus company Doctor Web has updated the Dr.Web KATANA setup module (1.0.20.11260), as well as Dr.Web Thunderstorm Cloud Client SDK (12.0.24.06030) and Dr.Web Anti-rootkit API (11.5.16.202206204), in its non-signature based anti-virus Dr.Web KATANA 1.0. The update incorporates minor software component upgrades and the latest version of the application's user guide. Identified software issues have been resolved.

Changes made to Dr.Web KATANA setup:

  • Application security has been improved.
  • A text-display issue, affecting the installer window UI in East Asian languages, has been resolved;
  • Now the installer displays the correct operating system version information.

Minor adjustments have also been introduced into the other modules mentioned above. The user guide now includes up-to-date information about the application's system requirements.

The installer packages have been rebuilt to include all the changes delivered with the update.

Furthermore, the self-protection module Dr.Web Protection for Windows (11.5.12.03230) and the Dr.Web Shellguard anti-exploit module (11.5.5.10050), which were previously updated in other Dr.Web products, have been made current in Dr.Web KATANA.

The update will be downloaded and installed automatically; however, a system reboot will be required.
